Is it just me or have you been noticing the increasing number of lawyer ads on TV, and online? It seems that lawyers are taking full advantage of the new Internet Age. Of course, some might say; "Why not, every other industry does this?" For instance ads like; "If your toilet is backed up and spewing all over your floor; call the Joe's Plumbing - specialists in the plumbing industry for 20-years!"

Not long ago, I saw this phrase on a lawyers website, who specializes in Franchising and Biz-ops (business opportunities) which read; "If you are a franchisee looking for change in your system, more profitability, then he can help. Arrange an appointment."

Interestingly enough, I have been in the franchising industry as a franchisor for some more than a decade and was founder of a franchising company. One thing, I can tell you is the franchise companies have standard business models and way of doing business, when a franchise signs the franchise agreement they agree to do business this way.

Now then, Mr. Michael J. Webster who is a Biz-op and franchise attorney and has a PhD, taught law at The University of Toronto believes that he has the right to place such ads or comments on his website (on his profile page to boot), and sue franchisors on behalf of disgruntled franchisees and disrupt the franchise relationship.
